2004 Winners
There have been 24 winners of the coveted Sales Assistant of the Year Awards and the 25th anniversary celebrations were no less special. The 2004 Award's final and dinner, were held in the plush surroundings of the Renaissance Chancery Court hotel in London. The 20 finalists travelled from all over the country, from Cornwall, to Cumbria, to be there and face the final round of judging. To reach this stage, each of the 20 assistants had to get through the initial stage of judging based on a paper entry form, and then demonstrate everyday high levels of service when mystery-shopped working in their own stores.
For the nail-biting deciding round, each finalist faced a panel of three judges drawn from the sponsors and Convenience Store, and were quizzed about service standards, training, innovation and motivation, and tested on their product knowledge with some challenging questions supplied by each of the award sponsors.
